Rates

Boone Power strives to provide clear and competitive electric rates. As a not-for-profit electric utility, our rate structures reflect the actual cost of delivering safe, reliable power and help support long-term system improvements.

Review our rate sheets or use the rate calculator below for more information about our charges.

Rate Calculator

For residential customers, a General Service rate is the most common. The average usage per month for Boone Power members on the General Service rate is 1,200 kWh per month. For an average 1,200 kilowatt-hour per month user, the cost per kilowatt-hour calculates to 17.2 cents. This is calculated by taking the total bill for 1,200 kilowatt-hours ($206.51) divided by 1,200 kilowatt-hours.

Enter your kilowatt-hour usage from your billing statement in the calculator below to see a full breakdown of costs.

Figures used in the calculator have been updated for May 2026 billing statements, with a slight decrease to the Energy Charge, due to a decrease in our wholesale power costs. This change results in a decrease of $3.49 per month for the average General Service member using 1,200 kWh per month.
