From sponsoring youth leadership trips to offering financial support for higher education, we aim to empower local students and invest in brighter futures for our communities.
Indiana Electric Cooperative Page Day
High school students from across Indiana are invited to apply to be a part of the Electric Cooperative Page Day program at the Indiana Statehouse. Page Day is an interactive, educational experience that allows students the opportunity to learn about the daily activities that take place in the Statehouse during the legislative session. Highlights include a Statehouse tour and mock bill activity. Students may have the opportunity to see the Indiana Legislature in action and meet state legislators.

Camp Kilowatt
Camp Kilowatt provides a fun experience for incoming seventh graders to learn about electrical safety, the cooperative business model, and be in nature enjoying traditional summer camp activities such as ziplining, swimming, and canoeing. Camp Kilowatt is held at Happy Hollow Children’s Camp in Nashville, Indiana.

Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
The Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., is an all-expenses-paid trip! Incoming high school seniors tour historic sites and monuments in and around our nation’s capital and meet with U.S. representatives and senators. They also tour Gettysburg and the Flight 93 memorial, visit Arlington National Cemetery for the changing of the guard, and enjoy a night cruise on the Potomac River. To be eligible, an applicant must be the son, daughter, or legal ward of a current Boone Power member.

Wired to Create Student Art Contest
The Wired to Create Student Art Contest invites K–12 students to submit artwork that shows what keeps Indiana moving forward, through the people, places, industries, and communities that power our state.From farms and schools to neighborhoods and local businesses, energy connects the places, people, and experiences that matter most. Electric cooperatives don’t just deliver power—we help power Indiana’s communities. Show us what that means to you!
- Eligibility: Indiana K-12 students
- Application deadline: March 5, 2027
Youth Power & Hope Awards
The Youth Power and Hope Awards program honors students in fifth through eighth grades who give back to their communities through volunteerism. Up to five winners each year are selected to receive $500, attend a statewide celebration with electric cooperative leaders from across Indiana, and are featured in Indiana Connection magazine.
- Eligibility: Indiana K-12 students
- Application deadline: Oct. 2, 2026
Annual Meeting Scholarships
Boone Power awards post-secondary scholarships to students who are dependents or legal wards of Boone Power members each year at its annual business meeting. The winners are chosen via a random drawing of all eligible applicants. The scholarships are not limited to high school seniors; any student who will be enrolled full-time during the 2026-2027 academic year may apply.

Demonstrations and Other Learning Opportunities

Through our partnership with the National Energy Foundation, local fourth grade teachers can enroll in our Think! Energy program to help their students learn about electricity generation and energy efficiency.
