Energy Assistance

Several resources exist for those who may be struggling to make monthly bill payments. Learn more below about the LIHEAP program and Indiana 2-1-1 resources below.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program

LIHEAP is a federally-funded grant program that helps low-income households meet their immediate home energy needs. LIHEAP funds are distributed through local Community Action Agencies (CAA).

You can find full details on how to apply and local office locations on the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority website.

Indiana 2-1-1

2-1-1 (Connect2Help) is a free and confidential service that provides Hoosiers with help and answers from thousands of health and human service agencies and resources in their local communities. 2-1-1 provides additional help with paying bills, food, health, shelter, employment, counseling, suicide prevention, parenting, and more.

Budget Billing

Budget Billing is a program offered by Boone Power that evens out monthly electric bills, making payments more predictable. Instead of fluctuating with seasonal usage, members pay a set amount each month based on their 12-month usage history. This helps manage household budgets and avoid high seasonal spikes.
