2027 Director Election & Business Meeting

As a member-owned electric cooperative, Boone Power is governed by a board of directors representing the nine membership districts that make up our service territory. Each year, we hold an election for three of our nine board districts. Each Boone Power member can participate in the annual election of directors. Because we are a cooperative, we follow the "one member one vote" governance model.

2027 Board Election Timeline

In 2027, directors will be elected to represent districts 4, 5, and 6. Learn more about the election process HERE.

Petition Deadline: January 20  

Voting Opens: March 15

  • Ways to Vote:
    • Email: All members for whom we have an email address will be sent an email on March 15 with a direct link to cast your vote online.
    • SmartHub: During the voting period, you’ll find a “VOTE NOW” button from the SmartHub mobile app and web portal.
    • Mail: If you would like a paper ballot to be sent to you in the mail, you can request one by calling our office at 800-897-7362 during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.) or completing a form HERE. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is April 7.
    • In-Person: We’ll have paper ballots available at our office during the voting window. Stop by during regular business hours to cast your vote. Please remember that while we are under construction, our customer service team will be working from a mobile office space, located just north of D-Patrick Ford in Lebanon. We will not be holding a drive-through event this year.

Bill Credits and Grand Prize: Each participating member will receive a $10 bill credit on May billing statements. A grand prize winner, drawn from all participating members, will be announced in the June Indiana Connection magazine. Stay tuned for an announcement about the grand prize!

 

 

Annual Business Meeting

We’ll hold our annual business meeting, during which we will share election results and a 2026 financial report, on Thursday, April 22, in the BCA Building at the Boone County Fairgrounds. Members are invited to a meet-and-greet with Boone Power board directors and staff from 6-6:30 p.m. The business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. 

Members can attend in-person, watch live on our website, listen on the radio at 102.7 FM, or view the recorded meeting on YouTube the week following the live event.

We’ll also draw 10 winners of $1,000 scholarships during the business meeting. (Winners do not need to be present to win.) Students who will be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary educational institution in fall 2027 are eligible to apply HERE by April 19.
