Boone REMC is now Boone Power. We've rebranded, but we’re still the same local electric cooperative delivering safe, reliable electricity to Greater Boone County.

Operation Round Up Nears $1 Million

banner

We are excited to announce that we are nearing $1 million in community grants awarded through our Operation Round Up program since its inception in 2006!

Operation Round Up is funded by Boone REMC members who allow their monthly electric bills to be rounded to the next highest dollar.  Those extra cents (no more than $11.88 per member per year) are deposited into a separate fund, and an independent board of trustees reviews grant requests for community projects.

We are hosting a celebratory event on Tuesday, June 18 to educate our members on the impact their small change has made on our local communities, and to say “thank you” for their contributions.

We invite our members to join us at the event to enjoy dinner and desserts and network with Boone REMC employees and other members.

Attendees will be offered a tour of the newly opened Whitestown Branch of the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Library (a recent Operation Round Up grant recipient), featuring the Boone REMC Recording Studio. The evening’s presentation will include a brief history of Operation Round Up and a panel discussion with current and former board trustees.
